Athens is just a wannabe backwater. If you want high art, master craftsmanship, newfangled Logic and Philosophy, equality among the genders, scholarly endeavors, trade with merchants from all over the world, prosperity… Helike is the jewel of Achaea. Something not mentioned in the histories is that Helike has become a destination for people who can trace their heritage back to various Gods and their creations and offspring. Only in Helike can you see such a concentration of beings like Satyrs, Gorgons, Oceanids and Minotaurs freely intermingling with human society. Legend of Helike has a boffer style combat system. It is not full contact, all out combat. Instead we have opted for something more like a tag system. This allows people of varying physicality to join in combat and keeps our costs low due to insurance. In essence, you are simply tapping someone with your weapon and calling out damage if you connect. We are not doing called shots, so damage is subtracted from the whole rather than making a leg inoperable, for example. Head and groin shots are not counted for damage, and if it becomes a problem we may ask you to change your character to something less combat oriented. We also have a magic system. We will be using birdseed packets as spells. These can be thrown with an incant, letting the recipient know if it is healing, damage or some other effect such as sleep. More details are available on the class skills pages. Our over riding goal is for people to be able to play whatever kind of character they want. We want you to have fun, not get beat down.
