Helike Estate System

The Helike Estate system allows players to generate income between game events. Think of it as a resource management mini-game within Legend of Helike.

There are several estates to choose from on the available estate page or you can build your own. Some estates, such as the small shops in town are plentiful. Some Estates are one of a kind. Think about what your character would choose. Some estates come with Residents and Modules included. You will likely need to purchase more in order to generate optimal income as each module requires a laborer to operate. There is a convenient Realtor in town who can help you with available properties or help you purchase and build your own.

Caretakers are responsible for keeping the house and the laborers working so if you don’t have one on your estate you won’t get all you could from your estate. If you are going to have more than 3 Laborers you will need a Caretaker or they will only produce at 50%.

Laborers (+1 Production) are the ones doing the work.

Guards (+1 Defense) increase the security of your estate but not the production capability.

Animal Handlers (+1 Production) are the stable keepers and wagon drivers that are required for keeping livestock of any kind. They are also considered Specialty Guards if animals are used for defense purposes.

Specialty Animals (+1 Production) are animals trained for a specific purpose like Guard Dogs or pulling a wagon.

Specialty Laborers (+2 Production) are crafters and artisans required for specific modules like a Smith, Scribe, or Alchemist.

Specialty Guards (+2 Defense) are the commanders of your defenses. In order to have more than 3 guards, you must have a Specialty Guard. In other words, every fourth guard must be an elite guard in order to have oversite.

Production bonuses are the basis of how much money or how many units of something you can bring to bear when called upon. This is mostly for role-play purposes. For example, in the event your estate gets attacked and needs repair, how long will it take to recover. If you only have 2 production points working to repair your estate it will take twice as long as if you had 4 points doing the work.

Defense bonuses are the basis of the estates’ fortifications. The higher the defense rating of an estate the more likely you will repel invaders without taking any losses. For example, your estate has a defense of +3 and gets attacked by a small gang you will suffer no losses. If your defense is +1 you may lose someone on your estate.

Raids happen! A prosperous estate is worth robbing. Think about Defense before you get raided! Raids are a random encounter for your estate based on the bandits in the area.

Many pre designed Estates will come with a Caretaker. This role is critical for producing income. If you lose your Caretaker you will want to replace them ASAP. Your laborers may still produce, but it will be for half capacity. There are also various Guards and other specialty characters available for your estate.

Some estates can hold several small modules, some estates are ideal for large modules. If you want a ship for a trade bonus, you’ll need a harbor or docks. Not all Estates can have those. Large Estates are expandable, see the Realtor for more details.
